FAQ What is Shore Helpers?
A website dedicated to connecting South Jersey families and businesses affected by Hurricane Sandy with people who can help.

Who started Shore Helpers?
We’re a group of individuals that live in Atlantic County who want to help our friends and neighbors in the Cape/Atlantic/Ocean area. Ed & Kim Keidat live in Egg Harbor Township and Glen & DeAnn Crawford live in Longport.

Do you accept cash donations?
No, we are NOT accepting cash donations. We are referring donations to Restore Our Shore. You may also contact the American Red Cross. You can donate $10 instantly via text message. Text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate to Disaster Relief efforts. Donate Online or Call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767), or print a donation form that can be mailed to the Red Cross.

Do you accept donations of food, clothing, etc?
If you have items to donate we’ll help pair you up with a recipient. For example, if you have a huge lot of children’s clothing in a size 4T, we’ll match you up with a family who needs them.

Can I just help with the cleanup effort?
Yes, there are specific jobs listed and we’ll match you up with a task depending on how far you want to travel. It might be as simple as helping someone clean out their flooded basement, removing debris, etc.

I have a specific skill, how can I help?
If you have a specific skill, (such as plumbing, electrical, landscaping, construction, etc) let us know and we’ll match you up with a family or business who is in need of your specific services.

I own a business and want to offer discounted services to help others, can I do that through your website?
No, our mission is purely voluntary in nature. We are looking for people willing to donate their time 100%.

I live outside the Cape/Atlantic area, can I still help?
Absolutely! If you have a favorite shore town that you hold close to your heart, now is your chance to give back. Let us know where you can help and we’ll match you up with someone in need.

I live outside the Cape/Atlantic/Ocean area and I need help. Can you help me too?
While the Cape/Atlantic/Ocean area is our primary focus, we will try our best to help all those who reach out to us.
